Amanda Flynn is a professional actress, singer, musical theatre educator, and voice teacher. As a performer, she was an original cast member of the LA company of Wicked understudying the role of Glinda. She was also part of the Las Vegas company of Mamma Mia as an understudy for Sophie, and the Laurey understudy in the national tour of the last Broadway revival of Oklahoma. Regional credits include Diana Devereaux in Of Thee I Sing at Bard Summerscape, Betty Blake in Will Rogers Follies at Stage Door Theatre, Urleen in Footloose at Carousel Dinner Theatre, A Christmas Carol at The McCarter Theatre, and Ragtime at The Fulton Opera House. She can be seen singing with Joe Iconis and Family. Also, numerous other concerts, readings, workshops, and recordings throughout NYC including the album "I'm Ready: The Song of Rob Rokicki," available on iTunes.
As an educator, Amanda is on the voice faculty at Pace University in the musical theatre program and CAP21 Musical Theatre Conservatory/BFA Program through Molloy College. She developed the Musical Theatre Program at Art House Astoria, a community based, non-profit arts school in Astoria, Queens. In addition, she teaches vocal technique for Musical Theatre College Audition where she helps high school students prepare their college musical theatre auditions. She has taught voice and musical theatre performance at The Studio New Canaan and Front and Center for the Performing Arts, and was on the voice faculty at New York University for two years. She is also the owner of Amanda Flynn Voice Studio with students performing on Broadway (Mean Girls, Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen,The Color Purple, Newsies, Beautiful, Wicked, West Side Story), Off Broadway (Be More Chill, Fun Home), national and international tours (Legally Blonde, A Chorus Line, The Color Purple), and regional theatre. Her students have been heard on original cast recordings such as Beautiful, Be More Chill, and Pasek and Paul's James and the Giant Peach. After studying voice at Baylor University, Amanda began performing professionally before finishing her BS in Liberal Arts at The New School. Amanda holds a MM in Vocal Performance with a Musical Theatre concentration as well as an Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy from NYU. She was the winner of the 2013 Janet Pranschke Professional Development Scholarship presented by NYSTA and completed the Mount Sinai Vocology Mentorship at the Eugen Grabscheid Voice Center in 2013 as well. She received her Certificate in Vocology from the University of Utah in 2017.
